Here is a list of the active venues available for booking in Plattsburgh. If you know of any information or spaces that we are missing here, please let us know! Most of these spaces do not have a PA system available for you to use during your show. If you do not own one, you’ll have to borrow one or rent one from one of the local shops like Bob’s Music or Dick’s Country Store & Music Oasis.

The Koffee Kat is a coffee shop located downtown that hosts all ages shows on a regular basis. The general rule here is acoustic music, but light amplification is allowed if you check with the space ahead of time. A good way to get a show set up is to talk to J.O., who can also usually help you out with a PA system if you’re playing at the Kat. It’s free to set up shows here, and artists are encouraged to take donations during their set.

42 River Street
Morrisonville, NY 12962-9606
Fuzzy Ducks on FB
(518) 310-3369

A bar located in Morrisonville, NY, formerly known as Cocktails. This is about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Plattsburgh. They are a fully-stocked bar, but allow ALL AGES shows.

The Monopole (21+)
7 Protection Avenue
Plattsburgh, NY 12901
(518) 563-2222

The Monopole is one of the longest running establishments in Plattsburgh. There is a weekly “Open Mike” night every Wednesday from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am where you can sign up for a 15 minute set, and they provide instruments and amplifiers for you. If you’re looking to book a show through them, give them a call. They only provide instruments and amps on “Open Mike” night, but there is always a PA system available for your use. Shows last from 10 pm to 2 am, so make sure you have enough bands or material to fill the whole slot. Artists are given a generous portion of bar sales at the end of the night, and they get free pizza and beer!

Olive Ridley’s
37 Court Street
Plattsburgh, NY 12901
(518) 324-2200

Olive Ridley’s is a restaurant and bar that hosts live music upstairs, where the shows are usually 21+ or 18+.  If you’re interested in setting up an event, give them a call. There is also a weekly open mic event on Sundays starting at 6:30 pm.

7160 State Route 9
Plattsburgh, NY 12901
(518) 566-8050

Formerly known as “Jim’s Place”. This is a pretty huge space that looks more like a barn than a bar/club. It can fit a ton of people. They have a stage and a PA (you can’t use the PA though). The place is also located a good distance outside of town, so it can be a tad difficult to get people out there. As for what they charge for shows, it can vary depending on who you talk to. Usually it’s been 10% – 25% of the door. To be honest, this place is kind of a pain in the ass to book at and the drawbacks sometimes outweigh the benefits. But it’s a large space and people who run it are open to shows. It’s also ALL AGES, which rules, so it gets a spot here.

39 Bridge Street
Plattsburgh, NY 12901
rotagallery (at) gmail (dot) com

ROTA is a downtown cooperative not-for-profit art gallery, music venue and community space. They regularly host all ages shows of every and any genre, and are also available for pretty much any type of event you could think of organizing. If you are a traveling artist looking for a show, shoot them an email.
